Pedestrian killed at McCarran Blvd in Reno
According to Reno Police Department officials, the accident happened at the intersection of Mira Loma Drive and McCarran Boulevard during the night hours. Police confirmed that a pedestrian was attempting to cross the street but unfortunately was struck by a passing vehicle. The Vehicle remained on scene as police arrived and the pedestrian was declared deceased at that time. Due to the severity of the incident the roadway was closed for some time.
No more information is available and the investigation is ongoing.

From 2015 to 2019, the number of pedestrian fatalities and fatal crashes generally increased. A total of 378 fatalities and 368 fatal pedestrian incidents occurred on Nevada roadways.
