One killed in hit-and-run in Las Vegas, NV
On Tuesday, the Nevada State Police reported a devastating hit-and-run accident on the eastbound lanes of the 215 Northern Beltway in Las Vegas. The accident involved an unknown pedestrian and a truck, with the truck driver reportedly striking the pedestrian. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, having suffered significant injuries. The Las Vegas Police are currently investigating the cause of the crash, and are looking into whether drugs, alcohol, distracted driving, or speed were factors. The name and identity of the unknown victim have yet to be released.

From 2015 to 2019, the number of pedestrian fatalities and fatal crashes generally increased. A total of 378 fatalities and 368 fatal pedestrian incidents occurred on Nevada roadways.
