One Killed And One Injured In North Las Vegas Crash
North Las Vegas Police were called to the scene of a crash involving multiple vehicles and pedestrians. Police said the accident took place at Simmons Street and Craig Road intersection.
According to the investigation a 2020 BMW X3 was heading northbound on Simmons Street and traveling at a high rate of speed passing vehicles and weaving through traffic as they approached Craig Road.
At the intersection the BMW collided with a 2021 Kia Optima that was making a left turn at the intersection.
The BMW continued on after the first collision and lost control of the vehicle, losing control and striking a utility pole, landscaping and a cinder block wall all before hitting two pedestrians on the sidewalk.
A 17-year-old female was reported deceased at the scene. The second pedestrian, a 19-year-old female was taken to the hospital with critical injuries. The driver of the Kia was not injured, the passenger in the BMW was also unharmed.
The driver of the BMW, a 32-year-old man showed signs of impairment and was taken into custody and booked on several charges. The deceased pedestrian has not been identified pending notification of next of kin. This is an ongoing investigation.
