North Las Vegas Crash Leaves One Woman Dead

North Las Vegas Police were called to an accident on Friday at around 1:35 p.m. at the area of Losee and Washburn Roads. The crash involved two vehicles and left one woman dead.

According to police a 76 year old woman was found trapped in a silver Mazda. She was taken to an area hospital and died the next day of her injuries.

According to police a Hyundai was heading southbound on Losee Road and was trying to make a left turn onto Washburn Road while the Mazda was driving northbound on Losee Road. The Hyundai made the left turn in front of the Mazda leading to the crash.

The Hyundai had a driver and a minor passenger that were both taken to an area hospital and treated for minor injuries.

Speed or impairment are not believed to be a factor in this crash. The driver of the Hyundai may ace charges for failure to yield and vehicular manslaughter relating to the death of the woman in the Mazda.

No more information is available at this time.

Help in a Crisis

Following a traumatic event, people often feel helpless, confused, and experience emotional shock. They are confronted with a situation for which they are totally unprepared.

Often there is no one available in the immediate aftermath of a tragedy to guide the victims through these difficult hours. The TIP volunteer provides this necessary temporary support until persons involved in the crisis are able to depend on family, friends, neighbors, and other resources in the community.
