Multi-Vehicle Crash Leaves 5 Hospitalized Near Stateline And Causes Major Delays On I-15
Two separate accidents caused major delays on the I-15 in the early morning hours of Friday morning near Jean. Nevada Highway patrol was called to the first accident, a three car collision at 12:16 a.m. near southbound I-15 mile marker 7 just north of the California border. While police were at the first accident scene investigating and cleaning up the scene, a second accident occurred.
The second accident happened at 12:36 a.m., a unidentified vehicle struck a Clark County fire Department Ambulance, a fire truck and a
Chevy Malibu that were all parked at the first accident scene.
The driver that struck the three vehicle fled the scene fled on foot and ispite every effort to capture them, they remain at large.
Five people were injured in the second crash and fuel was spilling across lanes of the freeway from the emergency vehicle.
One was taken by Life Flight because their injuries were severe, the other four were taken by Ambulance and transported to area hospitals.
None of the Clark County Fire personnel were injured at the scene.
The southbound I-15 was closed for several hours to clean up the diesel spill.
