Man killed in single vehicle accident near Nellis Air Force base in Las Vegas


On Friday evening, tragedy struck near Nellis Air Force Base, as a single-vehicle collision resulted in the death of the driver. The crash occurred close to North Las Vegas Boulevard and Sloan Lane, shortly before 6:30 p.m. According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the vehicle had struck a curb and rock. The driver was transported to the on-base hospital, however, he could not be saved and succumbed to his injuries. Although a crash so close to the base would usually be investigated by Nellis AFB security forces, due to the driver being a civilian, the Metro police were requested to handle the case. At present, further details of the crash have not been provided.
