High-Speed Crash Leaves Mother And 4-Year Old Daughter Hospitalized
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department responded to a violent crash at the intersection of North Nellis Blvd and East Owens Avenue that left a mother and 4-year old daughter with critical injuries.
According to reports the impact of the crash was so severe that it left significant structural damage to the victims vehicle, leaving the 4-year-old with life-threatening injuries.
According to police the mother was operating her vehicle with her daughter secured in the rear passenger seat through the Nellis and Owens intersection when a Ford sedan, driven by a teenager was driving at a high rate of speed through the area and violently collied with the mothers vehicle.
The force of the crash caused both occupants of the family’s vehicle to be trapped inside while waiting for first responders. Rescue crews had to use hydraulic tools to get to the injured.
Both the mother and daughter were taken to UMC Trauma Center and Children’s hospital for treatment.
The driver of the other vehicle, a teenager was taken into custody. The name of the driver and the charges have not been released based of the driver’s age. This crash remains under investigation.
