High Speed Crash Kills One Leaves Several Injured On Nellis Boulevard

A four vehicle accident has left one person dead and several injured early Monday morning June 24th. The accident occurred around 9 a.m. on South Nellis Boulevard just south of East Dessert Inn Road.

All evidence at the scene including witness statements and video surveillance indicate that a 2021 Kia K5 was traveling north on Nellis Boulevard at a high rate of speed when a 2012 Lexus ES350 left a private drive and attempted to turn onto Nellis and collided with the Kia.

The Lexus than was pushed into a Honda Civic, while the impact caused the Kia to crossover as hit a Ram 2500 Truck.

The driver of the Kia, a 21 year old was taken to Sunrise Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the Lexus was treated for minor injuries at urgent care.

Both drivers and passengers of the Honda and the Ram truck were taken to area hospitals to be treated for their injuries.

Police believe speed was the main factor in the crash and are asking driver’s to slow down. This is the 81st traffic related death in the LVMPD’s jurisdiction.

Help in a Crisis

Following a traumatic event, people often feel helpless, confused, and experience emotional shock. They are confronted with a situation for which they are totally unprepared.

Often there is no one available in the immediate aftermath of a tragedy to guide the victims through these difficult hours. The TIP volunteer provides this necessary temporary support until persons involved in the crisis are able to depend on family, friends, neighbors, and other resources in the community.
