Five people including the family dog killed in head-on crash near Beaty, NV
On Friday afternoon, a tragic head-on collision on U.S. 95 near Beatty killed five people and a dog, according to Nevada State Police. At 1:43 p.m. near mile marker 52, approximately 10 miles south of Beatty, a Subaru SUV was travelling southbound when it attempted to pass another vehicle by entering the northbound travel lane. This happened as a Buick SUV was travelling northbound on the highway, resulting in a fatal collision and both vehicles catching fire. No one survived. Inside the Subaru, an adult driver and two juvenile passengers perished, and inside the Buick, two adults and one dog were killed from their injuries. Officials called it ”an absolute tragedy,” and Highway 95 was shut down in the area for emergency responders to clear crash debris and investigate.
