Electric Bike Crash Leaves One Man Dead And One Teen Hospitalized In The Southwest Valley
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police were called to a crash around 4:20 p.m. Monday March 24th near West Warm Springs Road and South Torrey Pines Drive. The crash involved one vehicle and two electric scooters.
According to the evidence collected at the scene, surveillance video, and witness statements ; a 2017 Toyota Corolla was heading eastbound on Warm Springs Road coming to the intersection when two electric scooters that were traveling southbound on Torrey Pines were also heading toward the same intersection.
Both the electric scooters and the vehicle entered the intersection, the first electric scooter crashed into the left side of the Toyota and the second scooter crashed into the vehicles left rear fender.
Both scooter riders, a 22-year old man and a 14-year old boy were taken to an area hospital, were the 22-year was pronounced dead. The 14-year old remains hospitalized with critical injuries. The driver of the Toyota remained at the scene and impairment does not seem to be a factor at this time.
