Elderly man killed after struck by vehicle in Las Vegas

On Sunday night at 7:54 p.m., a 76-year-old man tragically lost his life after being hit by a vehicle while crossing the road. Las Vegas police reported that the incident occurred on Las Vegas Boulevard North, just south of East Cheyenne Avenue. Evidence and witnesses at the scene indicated that the victim had walked into the path of a 2004 GMC Sierra which had been travelling north. First responders sadly pronounced him dead at the scene. The 18-year-old driver of the GMC Sierra remained at the scene and showed no signs of impairment.

Help in a Crisis

Following a traumatic event, people often feel helpless, confused, and experience emotional shock. They are confronted with a situation for which they are totally unprepared.

Often there is no one available in the immediate aftermath of a tragedy to guide the victims through these difficult hours. The TIP volunteer provides this necessary temporary support until persons involved in the crisis are able to depend on family, friends, neighbors, and other resources in the community.
