DUI Suspected In Pedestrian Crash That Left One Dead, Saturday On Tropicana
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police are investigating a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian that resulted in the death of the pedestrian late Saturday night.
According to police the accident happened at around 2:19 a.m. on Saturday on West Tropicana just west of South Edmond Street.
According to police who were able to determine that a male pedestrian was walking outside the marked or implied crosswalk when he was struck by a Nissan Juke.
First responders found the pedestrian with injuries too severe and pronounced him dead at the scene. The driver of the Nissan remained at the scene but showed signs of impairment. LVMPD arrested the driver on suspicion of DUI related charges.
The names of both the deceased and the driver have not been released as this is an on-going investigation.
