Drunk driver strikes several pedestrians in North Las Vegas

Four people were hospitalized following a suspected DUI crash in North Las Vegas on Monday night. The driver of a silver Nissan Versa had struck four pedestrians in the area of Lake Mead Blvd. and Englestad Street just after 9 p.m., according to NLVPD. The vehicle had an adult female driver and two children as passengers. The driver had displayed signs of impairment and was taken into custody by responding law enforcement. She now faces charges for DUI and child endangerment related to the crash.

The crash occurred during a large gathering outside a business in the 600 block of West Lake Mead Blvd, which had grown in size and spilled over into the roadway from the parking lot, police reported. All four individuals who were hit were transported to UMC with injuries that were not life-threatening.

Help in a Crisis

Following a traumatic event, people often feel helpless, confused, and experience emotional shock. They are confronted with a situation for which they are totally unprepared.

Often there is no one available in the immediate aftermath of a tragedy to guide the victims through these difficult hours. The TIP volunteer provides this necessary temporary support until persons involved in the crisis are able to depend on family, friends, neighbors, and other resources in the community.
