Driver in custody after hit-and-run accident takes life near Sahara in Las Vegas
A man had been booked into the Clark County Detention Center Tuesday morning in connection with a fatal hit-and-run. It was reported by police that 29-year-old Angel Pascua had been booked into jail after he had returned to the scene of an earlier collision that had resulted in the death of a pedestrian. The investigation into the collision had begun at 1:13 a.m. at the intersection of Sahara Avenue and Valley View Boulevard.
According to an initial report from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, a pedestrian had been crossing Sahara ”outside a marked or implied crosswalk” when he had been hit by a 2015 Nissan 370Z. Medical first responders who had arrived at the scene had determined that the pedestrian had been beyond resuscitation and had pronounced him dead. After the collision, the driver of the Nissan had ”fled the scene without providing any identifying information,” as stated by the police.
