Driver flees the scene of fatal pedestrian accident in Las Vegas
On Monday morning, a fatal accident occurred on Maryland Parkway in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department responded to the 3100 block of the roadway at 3:43 a.m. upon receiving reports of the collision. The pedestrian, who has yet to be identified, was hit by a vehicle and killed. The police are currently searching for the driver of a blue 2022 Dodge Charger with black racing stripes. As a result of the accident, the road from Sunrise Hospital Drive to Vegas Valley Drive was shut down for approximately four hours.

From 2015 to 2019, the number of pedestrian fatalities and fatal crashes generally increased. A total of 378 fatalities and 368 fatal pedestrian incidents occurred on Nevada roadways.
