Driver dead after being ejected from vehicle during rollover crash
On Wednesday morning, a single-vehicle crash in North Las Vegas resulted in the death of a man in his early 20s. North Las Vegas Police officers responded to the area of North 5th Street and East Cheyenne Avenue around 2:58 a.m. after receiving reports of the collision. Upon arriving, officers found the driver of an Acura SUV suffering from serious injuries. Medical personnel from the North Las Vegas Fire Department arrived on the scene and pronounced the man dead. A preliminary investigation conducted by NLVPD detectives suggested that the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed when it veered off the roadway and into a dirt construction site. The SUV then rolled multiple times, ejecting the driver onto the road. Speed and impairment are thought to have been factors in the crash.
