Crash With RTC Bus Leaves One Dead UMC, Wednesday
Police responded to a crash early Wednesday morning around 1 a.m. near UMC. The crash was reported at the intersection of Charleston Blvd and Shadow Lane, just west of Interstate 15.
Metropolitan Police reported that one person has died of their injuries resulting from the crash.
Reports indicate that a 2012 Yamaha FZ8-N motorcycle was heading west on Charleston approaching Shadow Lane when it collided with an RTC bus. The bus was attempting to make a left on a flashing left-turn yellow traffic signal.
During the crash the motorcyclist, a 32 year-old man was ejected from the motorcycle and ended up on the roadway.
First responders attempted life-saving measures on the motorcyclist however the motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 43 year-old passenger of the RTC bus was taken to UMC trauma center by ambulance with sustained injuries.
The driver of the RTC bus remained at the scene and did not show signs of impairment.
