A bicyclist succumbs to his injuries from accident weeks later

Roughly three weeks after the initial crash, a bicyclist had died after a wreck with an SUV. Jose Dominguez had succumbed to his injuries at University Medical Center, according to the Clark County Office of the Coroner/Medical Examiner. According to authorities, around 7:46 p.m. on April 7, a wreck had happened on North Nellis Boulevard north of East Bonanza Road. Officials had said a Honda Pilot was heading north on North Nellis when a bicyclist on a Roadmaster Mountain Sport SX bicycled had traveled west across North Nellis in an unsafe manner across the Honda’s path. The front left of the Honda had hit the bicyclist, who had later been identified as Dominguez. The Honda driver had remained at the scene, had cooperated with the investigation and had not shown signs of impairment.

The Clark County Office of the Coroner/Medical Examiner had reported that Dominguez had died from his injuries recently. The cause of death had been determined to be blunt force injuries to the head and neck. The death had been ruled an accident. The investigation into the crash had been ongoing and no further information had been released at this time.

Help in a Crisis

Following a traumatic event, people often feel helpless, confused, and experience emotional shock. They are confronted with a situation for which they are totally unprepared.

Often there is no one available in the immediate aftermath of a tragedy to guide the victims through these difficult hours. The TIP volunteer provides this necessary temporary support until persons involved in the crisis are able to depend on family, friends, neighbors, and other resources in the community.
