Multi-car collision sends child to emergency care in Las Vegas
On Saturday morning 7-22-2023, a three-vehicle crash in the eastern Las Vegas valley left one juvenile with life-threatening injuries. Police reported that the collision occurred at 9:58 a.m. at the intersection of South Hollywood Boulevard and East Sahara Avenue. A 2019 Jeep Compass was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of Hollywood Boulevard when it collided head-on with a 2023 Nissan Rogue that was turning southbound onto Hollywood at a green traffic signal. The Nissan was redirected to the northwest, while the Jeep continued northbound and struck a 2021 Lexus NX300 in a second head-on collision. The Jeep had three unrestrained juvenile passengers, two of whom sustained substantial injuries and one with life-threatening injuries. All were transported to Sunrise Hospital, while the Jeep driver, who sustained minor injuries, was also transported there. Police conducted a DUI investigation, resulting in the driver’s arrest for charges related to the collision. The driver and passenger of the Nissan, as well as the driver of the Lexus, all sustained minor injuries and were transported to UMC Hospital. The investigation into the crash continues.
