Man on motorcycle killed in North Las Vegas


On Saturday evening, a fatal accident occurred in the north-central valley when a motorcyclist was ejected from his motorcycle. North Las Vegas Police responded to the collision at 4:32 p.m. at the intersection of West Lake Mead Boulevard and Englestad Street. The rider of the motorcycle, a man believed to be in his 30s, was found with serious injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Investigation showed that a silver Yamaha R1 motorcycle was traveling westbound on Lake Mead when a silver Toyota SUV attempted to turn northbound onto Englestad St, making a left turn in front of the motorcycle. The motorcycle was unable to stop and collided with the passenger side of the Toyota SUV. The driver of the Toyota SUV stayed at the scene and cooperated with officers. At this time, speed and impairment are not believed to be factors in the accident.
