Fiery crash on Charleston Blvd claims two lives
Two people tragically lost their lives in a fiery crash west of the Las Vegas Strip on Saturday night. According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the crash occurred at 11:18 p.m. on Charleston Boulevard and Westwind Road. Evidence and video of the incident showed that a white 2006 Chrysler 300 had been travelling eastbound at a high rate of speed and attempted to pass a slower-moving car on its right. The 18-year-old driver lost control of the vehicle, which then veered off the road and hit a streetlamp post, bursting into flames. The vehicle and the streetlamp post continued eastbound through the parking lot of the Tap House Bar and stopped behind two parked, unoccupied vehicles. The driver and her 60-year-old passenger were trapped in the vehicle and could not be saved, with both being pronounced dead at the scene.
