Driver killed after losing control and rolling his Toyota near Durango Drive in Las Vegas
On Thursday morning, a fatal accident occurred in Centennial Hills, Las Vegas. At 1:27 a.m., the police responded to a crash at the intersection of Elkhorn Road and Durango Drive. Evidence showed that a 2003 Toyota Sequoia was travelling northbound at a high speed in the right lane of three (T3). The driver lost control of the vehicle and it left the road and crashed into a reinforced light pole. The Toyota rolled over several times and eventually came to rest in an undeveloped desert area. The driver was declared dead at the scene while the passenger was taken to UMC Trauma with minor injuries.

The death of the Toyota driver marks the 37th traffic-related fatality in the jurisdiction of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) for the year 2023. The Collision Investigation Section of the LVMPD is still investigating the collision.
