Passenger killed in accident in Washoe County, Nevada
Nevada State Police, Highway Patrol division investigated a fatal crash that occurred early Sunday morning, July 23, 2023 in Washoe Valley. At approximately 12:55 a.m., NHP troopers responded to the scene of the crash on US-395 Alternate near William Brent Road. Preliminary information showed that a vehicle, listed by troopers as an Infiniti, was travelling southbound on US-395 Alternate near Willam Brent Road. For unknown reasons, the vehicle left the travel lane, striking two paddle markers. The car then rotated and reentered the roadway into the northbound travel lane, became airborne, travelled over a culvert, striking a tree and and then coming to rest in a residential property field, according to the preliminary investigation. The passenger of the vehicle died at the scene. The driver was transported to a nearby hospital for medical evaluation. Speeding was suspected to be a factor in the crash. The passenger’s name was not released.
