Carson City, NV (August 13, 2020) – Emergency responders from the Carson City Fire Department as well as local sheriff’s deputies both responded to a single-car rollover accident that took place just off of Curry Street near the intersection for Rhodes Street behind the Nevada State Railroad Museum on the evening of Thursday, August 13th.

The collision was brought to the attention of local law enforcement officers at about 6:00 p.m. At least two of the vehicle occupants sustained injuries during the accident. 911 dispatch initially received word that there were three victims, all from inside the vehicle

First responders attending the scene found two of the injured victims outside of the vehicle, with the third unresponsive victim still inside.

The critically injured victim was taken by ambulance to the Carson City Department of Motor Vehicles off of Stewart Street. They were then airlifted to the trauma wing of the Renown Medical Center in Reno.

Officials suggested that the rollover may have taken place from a nearby hill that faces westward where the vehicle occupants were most likely engaging in off-road recreation.

Emergency medical personnel at the scene of the crash indicated that upon their arrival they found one of the victims to be unresponsive but they were breathing.

Officials called for a Care Flight air ambulance to transport the victim to an area trauma center for emergency medical treatment of crash-related injuries.

Crash investigators are working to determine the cause of this collision.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
