Youth Hit By A Truck On Boulder Hwy In Critical Condition
Police were called to the scene of an accident on Boulder Highway Wednesday afternoon at around 4:07 p.m. Teh accident happened at the 6600 block near Russell Road.
According to police a 14-year-old teenager was crossing Boulder Highway from east to west in the crosswalk just north of South Broadbent Boulevard. At the same time a 2022 Ram 1500 was traveling north in the left lane as the truck approached the crossing. The truck’s right front struck the boy’s left side, throwing him into the roadway.
First responder’s took the teen to Sunrise Trauma Center, where his injuries were determined to be critical.Officials determined that the crosswalk lights were activated while the teen was crossing.
The driver remained at the scene and was cooperative with police. There are no sings of impairment from the driver according to police. This accident remain under investigation by police. The name of the teen has not been released based on his age.
