Two injured and one woman killed in vehicle crash near Durango Drive in Las Vegas


On Wednesday at 11:45 a.m., a two-car accident occurred at North Durango Drive and Brent Lane in Las Vegas. A Chevrolet Corvette was traveling south on Durango, while a Nissan Rogue was traveling north and attempting to turn onto Brent Lane. The Nissan turned in front of the Corvette and the two vehicles collided. The driver of the Rogue and the driver and passenger in the Corvette were all taken to University Medical Center`s trauma unit for treatment. Unfortunately, the passenger in the Corvette succumbed to her injuries and passed away. The driver of the Corvette sustained minor injuries, while the driver of the Rogue sustained serious injuries. According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, impairment was not a factor in the fatal accident.

Often there is no one available in the immediate aftermath of a tragedy to guide the victims through these difficult hours. The TIP volunteer provides this necessary temporary support until persons involved in the crisis are able to depend on family, friends, neighbors, and other resources in the community.
