Man killed while tending to his stalled vehicle near Las Vegas
On May 1st, at approximately 10 p.m., a fatal accident occurred on US 95. Nevada State Police reported that a blue Dodge Avenger had stalled due to running out of gas, and the passenger, Khalin Hershel Houston, exited the vehicle to check on it. A gray Chrysler 200 did not slow down before hitting the Dodge and Houston, forcing the Dodge into the middle lane and the Chrysler into the right side shoulder where it caught fire. Help in a Crisis
Following a traumatic event, people often feel helpless, confused, and experience emotional shock. They are confronted with a situation for which they are totally unprepared.
Often there is no one available in the immediate aftermath of a tragedy to guide the victims through these difficult hours. The TIP volunteer provides this necessary temporary support until persons involved in the crisis are able to depend on family, friends, neighbors, and other resources in the community.
