Four-Car Crash Caused By Red Light Runner In Sparks
Sparks Boulevard and Prater Way was the scene of a four car crash Tuesday at 11.18 a.m. A vehicle that was traveling north on Sparks Blvd. and ran a red light triggering a four car crash that left several people injured.
The vehicle that ran the red light struck another vehicle. The two cars collided and the impact caused one of the two vehicles to roll over, causing two additional vehicles to be caught up in the crash.
One person was trapped inside a vehicle and emergency crews had to extract the person from the vehicle. Two people, including the trapped driver and the one who ran the red light, were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of a third vehicle did not have any injuries to report and there is no information on the fourth vehicle.
The driver who ran the red light was cited for failure to stop, and impairment was not considered a factor in this case. This is an ongoing investigation for the Sparks Police.
