Fiery crash ends in death of two people in Las Vegas

In the east part of the valley, a fiery crash has claimed the lives of two individuals. Las Vegas police have reported that the incident occurred at 12:13 a.m. on Saturday morning on E. Sahara Avenue, east of the intersection with Voyage Cove Road. Upon investigation, it was determined that a Toyota Camry was traveling at a high rate of speed in the eastbound direction on Sahara. The road is currently closed and ends east of Voyage Cove Road.

Police have stated that witnesses and evidence at the scene indicate that the Toyota failed to stop at red and white warning signs before crashing through a section of the signs and colliding with a large concrete barrier. The impact caused the vehicle to catch fire as it came to an uncontrolled stop. The Clark County Fire Department was called to the scene to extinguish the flames and confirmed that the two individuals in the Camry had passed away.

Help in a Crisis

Following a traumatic event, people often feel helpless, confused, and experience emotional shock. They are confronted with a situation for which they are totally unprepared.

Often there is no one available in the immediate aftermath of a tragedy to guide the victims through these difficult hours. The TIP volunteer provides this necessary temporary support until persons involved in the crisis are able to depend on family, friends, neighbors, and other resources in the community.
