Driver killed after accident with box truck near Lamb Blvd

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department reported that a 49-year-old man tragically died Tuesday afternoon in an east valley crash. Police said the man had been driving a 2008 Nissan Versa northbound on Lamb Boulevard, approaching St. Louis Avenue in the right travel lane. At the same time, a 66-year-old man driving a box truck was traveling southbound on Lamb Boulevard and entered the two-way center turn lane just north of St. Louis Avenue.

Police reported that the 66-year-old failed to yield the right of way to the Nissan, making a left onto St. Louis Avenue eastbound. The front of the Nissan hit the right rear of the box truck. The 49-year-old sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to Sunrise Hospital, but sadly passed away despite all life-saving measures.

The 66-year-old driving the International 4700 truck stayed at the collision scene and cooperated with the investigation, according to police.

Help in a Crisis

Following a traumatic event, people often feel helpless, confused, and experience emotional shock. They are confronted with a situation for which they are totally unprepared.

Often there is no one available in the immediate aftermath of a tragedy to guide the victims through these difficult hours. The TIP volunteer provides this necessary temporary support until persons involved in the crisis are able to depend on family, friends, neighbors, and other resources in the community.
