75 year-old man has medical episode resulting in a crash near Lone Mountain

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said a 75-year-old man may have had a medical episode prior to crashing into a residential brick wall in northwest Las Vegas Sunday morning. The crash occurred on W. Lone Mountain Road east of Janell Drive, near Lone Mountain and N. Durango Drive. Police reported that the man was driving a Chevrolet Sonic westbound on Lone Mountain east of Janell when he failed to stay in a travel lane, striking a center median. He then swerved off and on the center median, crossing into the westbound travel lanes, and veered off the roadway onto desert landscaping. The vehicle eventually came to a halt after the driver crashed into the brick wall. Police are currently investigating the crash, but they believe the man may have had a medical episode before the collision.

Help in a Crisis

Following a traumatic event, people often feel helpless, confused, and experience emotional shock. They are confronted with a situation for which they are totally unprepared.

Often there is no one available in the immediate aftermath of a tragedy to guide the victims through these difficult hours. The TIP volunteer provides this necessary temporary support until persons involved in the crisis are able to depend on family, friends, neighbors, and other resources in the community.
