Felipe Pantone, 7th Street between Stewart and Ogden Known for his futuristic art, Felipe Pantone created his first 3-D public mural in Las Vegas in 2016. The dynamic painting features black-and-white geometric patterns behind a vivid, iridescent lightning bolt. The piece was taken up a notch in 2017 with 267 linear feet of solar-powered neon tubing. Three Graces, by Okuda, 7th and Ogden One of Downtown Las Vegas’ newest murals, “Three Graces” by Okuda, pulls passersby in with its neon-bright geometric patterns and pop surrealism. The Spanish artist has developed a unique iconographic language by effortlessly blending organic shapes with faceless bodies, headless animals and symbols that encour- age the audience to consider the conflict between modernity and our roots. Hunter S. Thompson by Ruben Sanchez, Las Vegas Boulevard and Fremont Street For many, infamous journalist Hunter S. Thompson and Las Vegas go hand-in-hand. In his 2015 mural, Spanish artist Ruben Sanchez found inspiration from one of the city’s most epic tales of adventure and paid tribute to Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas with his cubist-style portrait. Beauty on T ravel to the heart of Downtown Las Vegas and you’re right in the middle of the action. There’s flashing lights of the casinos, spirited street performers vying for your attention (and your dollars) and a burgeoning art scene taking over the streets. Just a few blocks to the east of Glitter Gulch in the Fremont Entertainment District are some of the city’s most eye-catching, thought-provoking and lively large-scale murals. Many murals on buildings in Downtown Las Vegas have been commissioned as a part of the City’s premier festival, Life is Beautiful. The art program has produced hundreds of works of street art, many of which have lived beyond the festival and breathe new life into the old-school vibe of downtown. The next time you stop by our Las Vegas office in the heart of the Arts District, take some time to explore the beauty taking over the walls around Fremont Street. Three Graces Peace Maker Hunter S.
