E ach year, the Richard Harris Law Firm spon- sors a scholarship contest for Clark County high school students. Previously known as Students with a Cause, last year’s Spirit of Nevada Scholarship Contest challenged students to creatively express their artistic talents by exploring the theme, “Discover Both Sides.” Students submitted original and engaging pieces highlighting influential people who enhance our community, inspirational places of natural beauty, and organizations and causes positively affecting the lives of Nevadans. The 2018 competition saw over 60 submissions across four categories, including written word, artwork, vid- eo and website design. Each winner was awarded a $1,000 scholarship, and $500 was awarded to the school of each winning student. “As a proud Nevadan, I know there’s more to our great State than the Las Vegas Strip. Seeing our local high school students uncover our hidden gems and present their work in such creative and thought-pro- voking media has, once again, far exceeded my expectations.” said Richard Harris, Founder of the Richard Harris Law Firm. “Our winners did a fantas- tic job showcasing all sides of Nevada.” BattleBorn Awards were presented at the Richard Harris Law Firm, where the students shared their winning entries and were celebrated for their creativity and ability to “discover both sides.” Winners were featured on our popular Spirit of Nevada social media series.
