Thousand Oaks, CA (August 21, 2020) – A female pedestrian died after being struck by a car on a roadway in Thousand Oaks early Thursday morning. 

The crash took place at approximately 5:10 a.m. on August 20 on CA-23. According to California Highway Patrol, a 50-year-old female pedestrian was traveling by foot along the north side of the 23 Freeway when she was struck by a vehicle. 

The woman was fatally injured in the crash and pronounced deceased at the scene by paramedics. 

The California Highway Patrol blocked off the northbound side of the roadway between the 101 freeway and Avenida de Los Arboles for several hours following the incident to allow emergency responders to work safely at the scene of the crash. 

A police investigation into the circumstances of the wreck will be carried out by local law enforcement. 

No further information has been made public at this time.
