San Diego, CA (August 21, 2020) – One man lost his life in a fatal crash that took place on a roadway in San Diego this past Wednesday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident took place at approximately 10:30 a.m. on the morning of August 19.
Brent Sturgeon, 30, was driving in a blue sedan on North Harbor Drive in the vicinity of Laurel Street when he collided with a pickup truck near the US Coast Guard San Diego Sector Facility.
The force of the collision caused Sturgeon’s vehicle to travel off-road where it then crashed into a light pole. Sturgeon was pronounced deceased at the scene of the collision.
The driver of the pickup truck has not been identified at this time, and no other injuries were reported to have resulted from the incident.
An investigation into how and why the wreck took place will be carried out by local law enforcement officials.
