Richmond, CA (August 15, 2020) – A fatal pedestrian accident took one life this past Wednesday, August 12. 

The collision occurred for unknown reasons on Parr Boulevard at approximately 7:15 p.m. A pedestrian was walking in the 700 block of Parr Boulevard when they were hit by an Amtrak Capitol Corridor Train. It is unclear at this time what caused the collision to take place. 

Paramedics pronounced the pedestrian deceased at the accident scene. The deceased pedestrian has not currently been identified at this time. 

The incident currently remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol. 

No other injuries were reported to have resulted from the accident. 

Nothing further has been released regarding the circumstances of the crash at this time. 

An ongoing investigation is currently underway concerning how the incident took place.
