Rancho Cucamonga, CA (August 12, 2020) – A fatal accident involving a pedestrian took place on the night of Tuesday, August 11th along Highway 60.
A source from within the California Highway Patrol stated that, at about 11:45 p.m., a tractor-trailer struck a male pedestrian in the westbound lanes of SR-60 at the intersection for Euclid Avenue. The cause of this deadly accident has not yet been established by crash investigators.
Emergency medical personnel reported to the scene of the accident. On their arrival, they administered critical aid to the victim whom they discovered lying in the street.
Officers from the California Highway Patrol later confirmed the pedestrian had died due to injuries he sustained during the impact. His identity remains undisclosed at this time, as local authorities are still awaiting confirmation and the notification of his next of kin.
Officers from the California Highway Patrol are carrying out a professional inquiry in order to establish cause and liability in this accident, so no additional details pertaining to the collision or the circumstances surrounding it are being divulged at this time.
