Paradise, NV – Fatal Pedestrian Crash at E. Katie Ave & S Maryland Pkwy

Paradise, NV (August 5, 2020) – This past Monday night, a fatal pedestrian crash took place at an intersection near the Boulevard Mall in Paradise. 

The accident occurred at approximately 7:00 p.m. on the evening of August 3 when two teenage girls were traveling by foot crossing the intersection of East Katie Avenue and South Maryland Parkway when for unknown reasons they were struck by a passing vehicle. 

The cause of the incident remains under investigation by local law enforcement officials at the present time. 

One of the victims was pronounced deceased at the scene of the collision. The other female victim was transported to Sunrise Hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries. The identities of the deceased victims have been declared as two 16-year-old females who resided in Las Vegas.

The identity of the driver who struck them has been disclosed as Ebone Whitaker, 38, who was also seriously injured in the accident and remains hospitalized. Whitaker is facing criminal charges including a DUI that resulted in death. 

No other information is currently available.
