Napa County, CA (August 04, 2020) – 28-year-old Katherine Elizabeth MacMahon, a resident of Napa, has recently been identified as the female pedestrian who was killed as she attempted to make her way across Highway 29 in the early morning hours of Friday, July 31st in Napa County.
The accident, which took place at the intersection of Highway 29 and Wine Country Avenue in north Napa, was brought to the attention of local law enforcement officers at about 5:15 a.m.
The Napa County Coroner’s office, responsible for identifying the victim, stated that MacMahon was walking across Highway 29 when she was struck by no less than two passing cars.
Officers from the Napa County Sheriff’s Office added that not one of the vehicles that struck the victim pulled over after the accident. Two of the drivers involved and one eyewitness, however, have since come forward and made contact with the appropriate authorities.
Crash investigators who were tasked with determining cause and liability in the accident have said that there have been no indications that drugs or alcohol were involved in this accident in any way.
The northbound lanes of Highway 29 were sealed off for approximately five hours as local law enforcement officers led their investigation.
We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased victim, Katherine Elizabeth MacMahon, at this time.
