Las Vegas, NV (August 06, 2020) – A 16-year-old girl died on the morning of Monday, August 3rd when the speeding vehicle in which she was riding collided with a wall near the Strip at around 9:00 a.m.
An official from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department stated that the girl was riding in the front seat of a vehicle that was driving at an excessive rate of speed as it traveled westbound along Sands Avenue.
The driver eventually lost control of his vehicle, at which point it plowed into a wall on Sands Avenue, just before Las Vegas Boulevard.
The 16-year-old female was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle, a 17-year-old male, and the backseat passenger, a 22-year-old male, were both taken to a local medical facility for emergency medical care. Their injuries were classified as non-life-threatening.
Local law enforcement stated that intoxication was suspected on the part of the driver, whose blood was drawn before he was transported to Clark County Juvenile Hall.
We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased victim at this time. Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families in hopes of a full recovery.
Fatal Car Accidents in Las Vegas
