La Jolla, CA (August 8, 2020) – This past Tuesday afternoon, a two-vehicle crash took place and resulted in injuries to those involved on a roadway in La Jolla.
Two vehicles collided for reasons still being investigated by authorities at the intersection of La Jolla Boulevard and Nautilus Street at approximately 3:23 p.m. A 76-year-old male driving a Toyota Prius ran a red light and collided into the side of a Ford F-150 operated by a 63-year-old man. The driver of the F-150 had driven through the intersection after a green light. The collision caused the Ford to lose control, striking a pedestrian who was only identified as a 77-year-old male.
The elder pedestrian suffered serious injuries in the collision including a broken left leg. No further details have been disclosed regarding the circumstances of the crash.
The area of the roadway where the accident occurred was closed off as police investigated and paramedics assisted the injured victim.
